One of my...A very humourous and interesting post.

One of my cousins in Mumbai participates every year in the marathon and he easily runs stretches of 20 kms of more. He is 48 and I am amazed how he managers to do that with every passing year.

I once asked him and his reply was that after running for a certain number of kms, the mind looks forward to running more and more. This gives the runner the required impetus and he starts feeling less and less tired. Only during the end of the race, the mind is able to grasp the magnanimity and slowly starts giving in. At that time, he feels exhausted more than ever. Some good psychological food for thought for me.

Personally, I too prefer to walk. Somewhere, in the back of mind, there is a thought that if I keep running at this age, I will get knee/joint problems at a later age. At that time, I may not be able to walk even if I want to !

On stamina, on flat surfaces, I can walk for day long on ends. Difficulty is when I have to walk on steep surfaces.

During my teens, I remember walking for 2 hours in Vijayanagar area (Bangalore) searching for a friend's house ! That's when I relaized my true "potential" :-)Shashihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10276600166667200774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3117069046631804983.post-311124566415806322013-01-11T22:31:29.294+05:302013-01-11T22:31:29.294+05:30Nostalgia 'time' for me :-)
I remember my...Nostalgia 'time' for me :-)

I remember my mother gifting me my first wrist watch when I went to 8th standard. She was so taken aback by its prize when buying that she had laughingly said "You should never ever buy another watch".

On wall clocks, my parents were the youngest, so they never got around to owning their parents' household items, so I remember we had only one wall clock for many years to come. And that too was bought by my father !!

Now we have two wall clocks at home, both gifted. One is in the form of a wrist watch. And the other, more on that some other 'time' :-)Shashihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10276600166667200774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3117069046631804983.post-17947593313099020862013-01-07T14:23:15.828+05:302013-01-07T14:23:15.828+05:30Who is your hotologist? In my childhood days, my mother used to receive letters from her brothers and sisters. Considering that she had 5 brothers and 2 sisters, you can safely presume that we used to receive at least 1 letter per week. Once the "telephone days" started, the frequency dropped, but we would still get about 3-4 letter every month.

As I grew older, in my school days, I played my mom's "steno" as she would dictate letters to me when she couldn't get time to write them herself.

Eventually, in my engineering days, the habit dropped to such an extent that I would write write to only a select few people. In fact, during the entire course, I would have written not more than 7-8 letters.

When it comes to thinking about what to write, how to make it very concise so that it would fit into the three page inland letter, there's nothing compared to this !!Shashihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10276600166667200774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3117069046631804983.post-53420072647934762922011-03-13T20:16:56.005+05:302011-03-13T20:16:56.005+05:30the fact that there are no comments on this post p...the fact that there are no comments on this post proves it.Jyotsnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11283637122211353167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3117069046631804983.post-3816773832994756942011-03-11T09:23:02.229+05:302011-03-11T09:23:02.229+05:30Hi Shiv,
